Purpose: Measure natural larval supply and early coral survival across reef and engineered surfaces.
Users: Researchers, NGOs, monitoring teams, educational programs, environmental assessment teams.
Scale: Compact research format measuring 20 cm in diameter and 10 cm in height.
Material: 3D printed clay fired to ceramic, or small format cast concrete.
Distinction: Research specific tools for settlement quantification; not designed as long term restoration infrastructure.
Overview: The recessed helix (or "superdome") design has become the de facto standard for measuring coral settlement and early-life survival in the field. The module attracts orders of magnitude more larvae than traditional research settlement tiles, and so are perfect for locations with low levels of larval supply. Easily placed in aquariums or attached to reef and engineered structures. Easily quantify coral settlement rapidly using our 3D Bluelight Rig.  Attach to natural and engineered surface using our Coral Settlement Module Anchor.
